Quick question for everyone.
What is your go to CAM in your shop for complex parts
I know most only have one or two CAM packages.
I mostly curious about multi-axis work. Machining Freeform geometery.
Splines and Meshs the sort.
My shop has seats for MasterCam, and HyperMill.
I grew up on Mastercam and can make a machine dance.
But boy with this New HyperMill Maxx that DMU really boogies.
Anybody else on here needing this level of control on daily?
I run barrel/tappered cutters just about every day now.
These Engineers out there are creating parts that would seem impossible to complete on a basic Cam platform.
This one was pain… Those are thru holes…

I am old school started on a Bridgeport no DRO or power feed. Compound angles were don with angle plats and tipping the head rotary tables and cheering heads were the bomb. Don’t do 5 axes here. But it’s very cool seeing your projects @MarcusMadrid!
I do deal with young inexperienced engineers that think just becous they can draw it it can be made. Most of the time the parts can be made with simpler designs.

I like those pictures of structures. You have machined. I would like to communicate more as to techniques of very light machined structures . for musical instruments.

I forgot to mention, this was done with APT hand written code on a mainframe before CAD CAM as is known today…existed…1970’s
Nice work piece 70’s! The good ol’ times!
