Hello from Pennsylvania, materials question

Hello,

I have to submit quotes for next year’s materials by next Monday (I just found out about all of this last week)- and I don’t have time to look through all of the prints before then. I was hoping to find a general materials list, but couldn’t find anything in short order. I heard Titan say (in a video) that many of the parts were designed for 1x2" 6061. That may be enough info to get us started- but I wondered if anyone could provide a link to a list of what we would need so I can start to stock up.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Brian

I would recommend you use 3 pcs for each student per project. So multiply the number of students x the total inches for each project. Add 1/16" for sawcut kerf to the list above. Buy material in 12’ bars if possible. After you come up with the number of inches, then have quoted the number of bars needed.

Eg. (1 student will make 3 parts each of all 10 projects (42.06" total for the 10 projects plus (1/16 x 10 sawcut kerfs) equals 126.805" per student. So if you have 10 students you will need 1268.05" which will equal 8.8 or 9 bars. Double check the math, I was doing it off my watch.

Mr. Hadwin,

Thank you for your reply, it is helpful to know we’ll need 3 each- I was primarily interested in knowing that all I needed was 1"x2" 6061, now I know I’ll need a boatload of it! We have to primarily concentrate on NIMS credentials in the state of PA, however I’d like to offer this curriculum to my level 3 students, phasing it in over the next couple of years. Thank you for your time and thoughtful response.
