Hello from Thousand Oaks, California - Mavericks Design

Hey everyone. @jeffcross encouraged me to throw out an introduction so here I go.

I am Aaron Rogers (not the football player) in Thousand Oaks, California. I have been a commercial airline pilot for 28 years. I have always enjoyed inventing, making, fixing and modifying things on the side. I set up a machine shop in my garage and started a company called Mavericks Design. I have already picked up a few great customers!

I’m planning to do machining full-time when I retire from the airlines.

I have a Tormach PCNC 770, Sheldon WM70 Lathe from the late 50’s, and a Birmingham CT1440 lathe.

I absolutely love the challenge and satisfaction that comes from machining precision parts.
Many thanks to @Titan for setting up this great resource.

Continuing the discussion from Hello from Thousand Oaks, California - Mavericks Design:

HI Aaron. I am in Thousand Oaks as well. I have been doing this stuff for over 40 years. Mostly owning my own CNC shop in the valley. Now teaching manufacturing at Van Nuys high school. Just wanted to say hi and if you got a question I could definitely tell you the wrong answer. But I would try to figure it out with you. Keep in touch

Hey Mark. That’s great! I’ll definitely keep in touch. It’s great to hear that a high school is still teaching the trades. All the best, Aaron
