TITAN-1M Tool List

Tackling my first ever CAM program…

Unless I missed a download somewhere, there should also be a Procedure list in addition to the Tool list for any given milling part… When I look at a five item tool list, I assume that there are five procedures each with their own tool.

That is not the case for TITAN-1M. Tool #2 is the 3/8" end mill which is actually used for three different procedures - Rough cuts, exterior finish cuts and interior pocket finish cuts.

I myself would either include a second procedure page OR expand the tool list with subcategories for each procedure. In this case Tool #2 would have a 2a, 2b and 2c under it and list what each procedure is.

Any thoughts here?

To see what every tool does you can make a setup sheet thru Fusion. In cam go to the actions tab same area as you make posts from. Click the down arrow and choose setup paper. It then spits out every tool the processes it does and what the z value is so you can make sure the tool is stuck out far enough. The setup sheet you have pictured is something Titan makes himself.

You could have a combination setup sheet and process sheet. It would be difficult to issue a standard process sheet due to the many different machining centers that everyone would use. Basically this sheet will give the CNC setup person which tools to load and set tool heights and where the part orientation is programmed as well as the material size and material. As Donald_Rockey states, you can use Fusion to create your own process sheet based on your post processor used.

I thank everyone for the replies, but they all sound like output data that can be pulled by the floor machinist after the CAM programming is done.

What I am after is a front-end guide for writing the program. Right now all we have is a list of tools used on a particular part and the tutorial video. The recordings don’t always stop on the TOOL tab as a procedure is created. I had to back track and pause to see it, that is also how I discovered that there are actually three procedures using the same 3/8" end mill tool.

I wold like to have an additional reference in my hands beside the video alone that lists every procedure as a line item.

Step one - 3" tool for facing
Step two - 3/8" tool for rough cuts
Step three - 3/8" tool for exterior finishing
Step four - 3/8" tool for interior pocket finishing
Step five - 1/4" tool for sharp edge chamfers
Step six - 1/4" tool for drill bit pilot holes
Step seven - 0.1772 drill bit for holes
Step eight - 10-32 tap for threads

Thanks

Hey Travis, your setup sheet reference is to a location on your C drive, which we obviously don’t have access to, lol!

Uh-no I guess you all know I can learn a thing or 2000 things myself LOL. I’ll try and fix that later
