WEB function in Titan-10

Hi: New to Fusion 360. I’m on Titan-10. I have been able to follow all of Billie’s tutorials until now. When trying to duplicate the WEB function in the exercise, I am unable to get the WEB function to behave as demonstrated. I make the top and bottom lines construction lines, add the cross lines and everything seems OK. I select the WEB function and it highlights ALL the lines, not the ones that Billie’s tutorial shows. It gives me an error message that it cannot do self-referenced lines. I’ve tried this 10 different ways and it still does the same thing. Any ideas on what I,m doing wrong?

Have you tried right-clicking when selecting your lines? This has been challenging to most, I could pick everyone line except maybe 2 of the lines. When I started right clicking and moved in a CCW pick, it worked. After it worked I did not go back and try it to see if that was the fix or if I just got lucky.

Hi Stephen:

Thanks for the reply. I can’t right click because that brings up press/pull etc. menu. However, I tried holding down the control key and it selected each individual element of the hexes. Then I selected Create Web and it worked!! I wonder if there has been a fusion 360 change since Billie did the original tutorial or maybe we are still doing something wrong. His example seemed so easy. Maybe he could give us some insight. You wouldn’t think a program would be written so that it didn’t work the same way for everyone.

It was the ctrl key I meant to say. I am glad it worked for you also. A small issue I see with videos I do for my class, if I make the videos this year, next year, the software is upgraded and there are small changes to process. I suspect that was the same with the original video for 10M. It was done using an earlier version of Fusion 360

Oh my gosh, I am having the same exact problem. I have tried the CTRL key trick, (clicking lines prior to web) and it does not work. When selecting web function, it seems to pick way more lines than Billie’s example. I have drawn this 10m so many times I have it memorized up to the web point. Can any one help?

Hi Sean:

I really struggled with this also. I finally got it to generate the web by doing the hex shapes without changing the top and bottom to construction lines. Doing the web for the hexes, then adding a new sketch to do the intermediate lines in the hexes. Then doing a web on them. Even with this, it seemed I had trouble selecting the lines to designate the web. I think that that Autodesk must have changed something that affected the way the program acts since Billie did his tutorial. I’m thinking maybe we should ask Autodesk to look at it because Titans hasn’t been able to add any insight.

Hi Tom,

I’m having the same problem with the webbing still can’t get it working. Has anyone talked with Autodesk about this? Or come up with a solution of some sort? I think i will reach out to them on this if i come up with anything i’ll let everyone know.
