What mouse is recommended for Fusion?

Hi, I am sorry to bother you all, I am very new to the industry, currently going to college studying mechanical engineering. In my spare time I am trying to work through the design segments of the building blocks, however, I only have a standard mouse & I am struggling like mad trying to design parts in fusion 360 in a less frustrating way. Could someone help me with a recommendation of a more suitable mouse please ?

Thanks in advanced,

Jason

@JasonAston I seen a lot of folks use stuff like this.

This is what I use. But I’m not a daily driver of Fusion 360.

Whichever you pick recommend you make sure it is compatible with your system. Mouse that I use I just use it as a mouse. The other devices I believe work at the same time as your mouse do other cool things that I have no idea about haha sorry.

Thankyou for your help, it’s really appreciated.

I also use the logitech M570 trac ball as it allows you to keep from moving your hand all over your desk while trying to work. in addition to the logitech , i also use a 3DConnexion 3d mouse. makes a world of difference once you get used to using them. i would recommend the 3dconnexion 3dx-700059 while you are learning, as it is the best bang for your buck. If you advance in your career to doing more 3D modeling, i would suggest the space mouse pro or enterprise as they have a ton of additional functions to help speed up the modeling process. as an recent graduate from Penn State in ME, i can understand the lack of time to get everything done, so good luck in your education!

It is all about one hand on the keyboard one one on the mouse at all times, you would be surprised how much faster it is.

Agreed! Unless that’s not in your budget. Anything will do. But the Space Mouse makes everything easier.

I use a standard mouse the majority of the time. The only time I use the fancy space mouse is with extremely complicated parts. Speed of execution is not something I have to worry about.

You can work with a std mouse and keyboard pretty much the same as with the space mouse. Are you in a race or have you just not found out how to use a std mouse effectively with 360?

Is there a hot key to use to make the mouse pan around the part?

In the top right corner there’s a UCS you put your cursor on it left click and hold and then move the mouse the model should fly around. I just use a standard Mouse nothing fancy.

UCS? I’m not sure I understand the term is that what the cube is called?

Yes it is sometimes it might be called other thing also.

the square in the upper right hand corner that’s what I’m talking about I know this is a app on my phone. But it says top left right back bottom. Put your mouth on it left click then drag your mouse and then you can rotate the part easily.
