My name is Jamie and I’m 26 yrs old, living at the base of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. I began working in a macinhine shop at 18 years old running a sand blaster. That point in my life I was going down the wrong path. I used drugs and alcohol to solve my problems and battled those afflictions for many years. 3 years ago my house caught on fire and killed my 18yr old sister and my best friend. I was the only one to make it out alive. I lost everything…and a local preacher gave me a job at his CNC Shop running two Hass VMCs. I feel in love. Learning how to read G Code and speak to the machine, telling it how to make a AR15 Bolt Carrier out of raw barstock gave me purpose and I found a new way to solve my problems. Even though I was going through the darkest point in my life, Fusion and CNC milling helped me clean up and make a name for myself in the little shop I called home. If it wasn’t for The Academy and G Code, I don’t know where I would be. I now have met the woman of my dreams and have a beautiful baby boy. God helped me find this path and this path I will walk in my sister’s name. If anybody has read this to this point just now that when life gets you down, just hope on Fusion and make something you can be proud of. BOOM!
