TIMMcADAM
They call me “Jack”… (of all trades) …
besides woodworking, photography, and other hobbies… I started off building chassis for racing, everything from IMCA, NASCAR, and drag racing. I prefer doing the drag racing because you can make a work of art for someone, and it stays that way
Circle cars tend to last only a couple races if you’re lucky. From there I started machining in the tool & die trade, which started me in the CNC world, programming on a Tandy T-1000 and a Bridgeport Boss 8 control. I’ve been with CNC for about 27 years now and still loving it and learning what I can. I currently do a lot of reverse engineering, drawing, designing and specialty programming when the guys in the shop need help. At my second (on the side) job, I design, prototype & set up production runs for a friend that holds patents on archery products and laser alignment set ups for carting.
I’m here at the Academy to learn multi axis machining and CAM since I’ve always programmed the hard way (by hand and drawings). I have run 5axis mills but we only used them for positioning work instead of profile milling. I’m also a bit of an info sponge and software junkie, so what better than to dive into Fusion 360 & being here! Feel free to ask me anything, I’m glad to help anywhere I can!
Update 9/1/18… New job!! I am now a “programmer” for a company that makes rugged computers for everything from the military to autonomous vehicles. Diving hard into Inventor & HSM!
I’m also looking toward buying some equipment to get out on my own before the retirement years catch up to me
(I just have to talk the wife into it…)LOL
Thank you Titan and everybody that makes the Academy possible!! BOOM!!
