How to not let a crappy shop make you a crappy machinist

How do you guys stay engaged with machining while you’re in a crappy shop?

in our area , there are too many good shops looking to hire.
Leave, go work for a shop that appreciates a good machinist.

Keep challenging yourself with learning new things online and practicing them in real life.

Deal with it for a while and just start building your own shop. Get a single phase TM-2P Haas… Don’t buy brand new… Grab a gently used one with low hours. I just found one with 50hrs on it… Don’t buy a tormach they suck.
A Haas toolroom mill is a good entry point then just make parts for a while and get a real machine like a milltronics 5020IL.

If your building your own shop while you work at a shop that just makes stupid decisions it all becomes bareable because you know you are on your way!

And you are your own Man or Woman… Nobody owns you!

Then when the work you do actually benefits you to grow it will motivate you to work harder for yourself!
