Is this academy set up to learn with a cnc available to use during or more of a off site learning module? I’m looking to better my cad/ cnc programming skills but I don’t have the machines to follow along.
@BillLamont Have you looked at the website to see if there is a small group near you? Small groups are individual machine shops that have opened up their shop and have meetings for folks to come in and learn on their machines. This is a phenomenal opportunity.
I have not, that sounds great!
It’s too bad I don’t have any groups in my area
Bill, to answer your question. Yes, the tutorials are a blended tutorial, meaning you can design and program off-site and then additional tutorial to help you on the machine side. Of course, you should have someone familiar with the machine when you get ready to run your part. The machine side will teach you about tooling, work holding, offsets and machine controls. Hopefully it will wet your appetite to learn even more and gradually work your way and confidence to achieve something more than a being a CNC operator (button pusher), but become a CNC machinist that can setup, design and program without use of tutorials.
That’s my plan to become a cnc machinist/set up guy
