Rocket tooling feed/speed/doc for steel and ss?

It looks like all of the tools in the rocket kit are good for most materials except for the profile finisher so I just ordered that insert in kc5010 grade. Could someone share with me the recommended speeds and depth of cut for low carbon steel and 304/316ss. I’ve never worked with anything other than 6061/7075 and delrin on the lathe, but now I have a big boy lathe that can handle it.

Titan made a video “Expert Tips on High Speed CNC Milling” He discusses 316 SS in that video. 316 isn’t terrible IME but 304 can really suck if you’re outside that range by just a little. Low carbon steel can be run almost as fast as aluminum with the right tooling. 304/316 SS are a completely different animal. That Chromuim and Nickel fight back. I wouldn’t recommend drilling with HSS or even cobalt on 304/316. I’ve never had much luck. Carbide is the only way to go IMO.
Bear in mind this is all about milling. Turning is a different beast. Sorry this wasn’t more helpful.

I did get recommended feeds and speeds from a guy I used to work with. Basically use what is the default when you download the rocket library for mild steel. Increase the speeds for aluminum by 50%. Reduce stainless speeds by 50%.

Anyway the quote turned out to be a waste of time. He was expecting parts for less than the cost of material.
