Haas ds-30ssy Simultaneous machining

Hi guys, if your time permits, I have a question. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have a Haas ds-30ssy post processor, and I’m practicing programing 4 axis lathe operations.

However, I can’t cut a cylindrical spiral in the part. (Swarf cut tool path). My post processor alarms out and says. (“direction not supported by the machine”).

Is a Haas ds-30ssy lathe capable of simultaneous 4 axis machining, or is it only good to index parts?

Right now true simultaneous 4th isn’t there. You can SORTA get it with wrapped, but if you have a shape that isn’t symmetrical, it’s not useful, not really. There is a beta feature for 4th, but it’s pretty buggy. We’ve been waiting for the feature for years!
