Hello everyone, Im Jordan. Just getting a feel to see if anyone on here is in AZ?*
Welcome to Titans of CNC!
Happy New Year Jordan. I live here in Tucson. I am a mostly retired dude that spent the last 2 years learning Fusion 360 and took the Building Blocks course. Just finished converted a mill to cnc and now making parts. Lots to learn. What are are you up to? Here are images of my first two projects made almost entirely on the mill:
Happy new year to you as well! I’m in Marana. Thats awesome you are retired. How long did you machine for? I have been doing the build blocks as well. I hva ebeen machining since 2015. I have been in 3 shop now 4 starting next week. Most of them never let the programmers machine as well and that’s what I want to do.
Those are some very cool parts! Does the little piston looking one rotate and everything?
Wow… I am in Oro Valley. We are neighbors! I never touched a milling machine until I bought a perfectly brand new one… Took it completely apart and then converted it to CNC. I took the Titan building block series as well as the online course “Fusion 360 in 30 days”, then started making stuff. I tested the engine with compressed air and it works. I wish I had the shop experience that you have. Some things are a challenge to learn online with no hands on experience. I am stumbling… but moving ahead slowly!
If you are interested in converting a mill… Here is my build thread: Another PM-833TV Conversion - CNC Mill Conversions and Builds - Dr. D-Flo (drdflo.com)
Be well… Richard
Wow that is really awesome! What kind of machine is it? Brand and stuff? What made you want to get into it right now? What are you having trouble with?. Im near Dove Mountain
By the way, these parts look really good!

Hello Jordan! I’m also in Arizona. The Buckeye area.
Awesome, nice to meet you. What kind of machining do you do?
I make a variety of items for folks that reload ammo. Mainly vertical CNC mill work.
Very nice! Do you work in a shop?
I work out of my garage. I have a Haas Mini Mill 2 that I bought new three years ago. Also a Bridgeport and a small Hardinge lathe.
How about you?
Jeff
That is my goal! I want a super mini as well. Im starting a new shop next week.
Nice. Where will the shop be?
It’s here in Tucson. It’s called Qualitas Industries.
Just curios if either of you guys have ever replaced the bearings on a mill. I upgraded the spindle motor and about to change the spindle bearings. Is this something you guys have any experience with?
How’s it going? I personally have not. I have watched a buddy do them at a old shop I worked at. On a Haas Vf2. Is it a personal machine or shop? I can ask my manager tomorrow for the guys number that works on the machines for Haas and our shop. If you’d like?
Thanks Jordan. It is my small 3.5 HP benchtop mill that I converted to CNC. It looks like I need a press to get the bearings off the spindle. Let’s hold off on that guy’s number for now. I’m going to see if I can find a friend nearby that my have a small press. I may be back to you soon. Thanks for your quick reply.
You’re welcome. Good luck!
