I am trying to get my employees to Use the Academy. Been a little difficult so far but i am not giving up
@MICHAELYEAGER its great that have you joined.
Have you considered offering your employees and incentive?
Yes. Generous incentives have been offered.
They may need reverse incentives.
Darn I wish you were my boss sounds like You are a good one.
I have my own shop and its just me. My incentive is not that obvious to most but with the short time I have invested I have learned a lot and made my programing easier. I do mostly tooling so lots of programing.
I hope you get a Rock stare employee that can step up and take the challenge to set example for the others.
Have you considered starting a small group? To grow the next generation of employees?
Don’t give up! Welcome to the forum.
Have you considered creating an Academy Small Group? You can keep it closed, for Employees Only. http://academy.titansofcnc.com/education/small-groups
I have hired one new person and close to hiring 2 more. One of these people will be my “Education Director”. Big title!. Seriously, this person(s) will be charged with creating and leading the small group here at Yeager Machine, Inc. I know me well enough that if that person was me it would fail. I get pulled in too many directions to keep this going strong. Hopefully we will have the group up and running by May.
I wish my boss would implement this! I work in Minneapolis. Small tool room at Metal-Matic INC
Try going to the academy and doing some of the projects and then go to your employer and show them how you progressed that might flip on a light switch and give them the idea that it’s a good thing
Hi Bill,
Once i get this set up here you are welcome to come out and bring your boss to see how it is working…
I have made the 2 new hires. Our new quality manager and our new shift lead will be leading our small group. Also beginning to work with a local high school and a exciting program my state Representative is pushing at the state capital. If he get this passed it will break tear down the wall that has been getting in the way of getting young folks involved in precision machining…Picking up steam and beginning to run to greatness!
You seem like a good boss, hope your employees see the benefit in what your doing, its hard to find a good boss im from the twin cities and just let a job as a lathe programmer at a large tooling maker cause of bad managment, have to keep the update up on how the academy is working im interested in pushing this at other places along with the learning in fushion and knowledge it keeps giving
awesome to see you working with a State Rep and getting a group together. Right now our business is growing and busy at the Machining aspect of it. I’m wanting to do that same and get a small group maybe just start with our own employees at first. The owner asked me about training guys and I showed them the Titan guidelines and projects. So, they could actually see progress, and push their own limits, also.
