I have searched in various places and I am wondering if anyone is using Mastercam with a Tormach Mill, and if there is a post processor available for download?
Any help on this would be appreciated……thanks
You might contact support at this website - Tormach Post Processor Downloads | Tormach
I believe the post listed as machine definitions is the MasterCam post.
This link has an email address to MasterCam - https://www.mastercam.com/support/post-processors/post-processor-support/
Here is a YouTube sie suggesting they use Mach3 for Tornach… MasterCAM tutorial A Adding the Tormach tool post - YouTube
Thanks Stephen much appreciate the suggestions will try.
Thanks Doug
Doesn’t look as though that’s the post for Mastercam.
And this is the response back from Tormach:
You will indeed need to acquire a post for MasterCAM but you will want to contact your MasterCAM vendor for that. They should have a PathPilot post if you are using that or a Mach3. If they need to develop one, please let me know and I’d be happy to assist in getting the documentation needed to get that created.
I realize I only have the educational license that was a promotion on this site, guess no one is using Mastercam on the Tormach. This is only for hobby use by someone that’s a little computer challenged at times but still wanting to learn.
Thanks Doug
I did put a post on the Facebook page and folks are saying contact Master cam. Sorry not much help
This is the response back from Mastercam this am
Our price on the post is likely going to be too much compared to the cost of the software. Our posts are thousands of dollars each and require dozens of hours of development if they new or not in our library.
Can you send me the machine specifics and I’ll talk to our post manager to give you a better idea on cost?
Guess money would have been better spent on upgrading to paid sub with Fusion rather than trying something different.
Live and learn……
Thanks everyone for your help and info …Doug
@Doug got some more information. Titan says that the generic 3-axis post works for the Tormach.
Thanks so much for the info I’ll give this a try.
To bad it hasn’t been easier find this info, on either the Tormach site or from Mastercam.
Thanks again….Doug
I don’t know if you do Facebook or not but they have a fantastic group there with a lot more active members. Titan tagged a couple people. And application engineer replied saying that the generic 3 axis would suit you just fine.
@Doug FYI
Thanks for the follow up on this Dylan!
I thought I had explained things clear enough : Tormach series 3, w/Pathpilot
This Mastercam was purchased through In House Solutions.
At least I have some positive answers.
I take it that the Generic 3 axis post is the Mach3 one?
Thanks again for the support……Doug
Hey Doug,
Did you ever try the generic 3 axis post on your Tormach with Pathpilot, and how is it working out for you?
Thanks for your input.
Ian
