MasterCAM setup?

I’ve gone through the solidworks tutorials and have created models of projects 1m - 10m.

Now moving onto the CAM portion with MasterCAM. Is there a tutorial somewhere that I’ve missed on setting up the program to output NC code specific to my machine?

I’ve downloaded the Fanuc 3-axis post from MasterCAM. My machine is a basic 3axis with ATC and flood coolant, and supposedly accepts stock fanuc NC code. But I haven’t been able to figure out where to setup the downloaded post file in MasterCAM.

Using the default 3 axis mill profile produces motion in A and B rotational axes when examining the generated NC code. This is obviously undesirable.

Advice, pointers, links to resources all greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

@IanRogers have you tried asking this on the Facebook page?
A lot more users there.

Your Mastercam reseller should be able to help you with adding the post and machine definition files to Mastercam. You can also search for “adding a post to the machine definition” in Mastercam help.

You could open Mastercam and drag and drop the file in. And then it says it was successfully added. That’s what I did to add a new post

Also if you follow the link I have, step 2 shows how to do it manually
