Missing 2nd Op video for Rocket 93L

I can’t seem to find the 93L’s 2nd op CAM tutorial. This would be the first part that leverages the face groover and I would like to see how that’s programmed.

The main issue I am having trying to do it myself is that the toolpath produced is expecting the tool to have been zero’d like an ID tool, but Tyson Gilroy made it clear in the face groover setup video that it should be zero’d as an OD tool, so I am a bit confused on why and was hoping the 2nd op video would explain.

Thank you for being an Academy Member!

We have the tutorial for the 2nd Operation in our production pipeline. I’ll send your question to Tyson and make certain the answer finds its way into the finished video.

Stay tuned!

The academy rocks!

Good to know that the video has just not been posted yet. Tyson did respond to my question on Facebook, so I am moving forward again.

For the future, where is the recommended place for these types of questions? This forum or the Facebook group?

Thanks!

@StevenBuxton You posted this in the perfect spot. Yes @shaniegust is right post in both places. FB will get you an answer faster for now but when you post here you help build a searchable knowledgebase for other people wishing to learn.

I am getting an error message when creating the face grooving tool path. I have followed the video instructions and everything has worked on all the parts except this tool path. I am using MasterCam 2022 and the tool library is the one downloaded from Titians website. I have the CPlane, TPlane and WCS planes set to the +D+Z.

I have tried to put a picture in and it will not load. The message states is as follows

There were one or more errors or warnings during toolpath generation.

1)Error making groove toolpath.
2)Toolpath regeneration failed.

13 - Lathe Groove (Chain) - [WCS: +D+Z] - [Tplane: Lathe upper left]

I am looking for any suggestions on how to fix this problem. I have students that will be creating this tool path this week and I know they will run into the same problem. I would like to have an answer for them when they get to it. Can anyone help? Thanks

@BillyDiman Try asking your questions in the FB group. A lot more actively there.
