I am curious as to what other uses there are for the probing cycles in inventor other than the obvious (finding zero). any input??
You can use the probe to measure out features: bores, lengths, positioning, and other features. Also, can have a macro where a tool runs, and then the probe comes in measures certain features. Then it will offset tools according to what parameters entered. Now given I know Haas does this because I have used these features. Haas Tip Of The Day Youtube channel. Now as far as other controllers you should still be able to use some of these features with those controls.
I am using a HAAS VF2 pre next gen control. i will have to look into these videos to figure out these functions. My job is designing and making complex tooling for the electronics industry, and these features will come in handy. thanks!
i will give this a try, although he is using the next gen controller. my controller is 1 generation before that.
