Is there a Video or link to set the fusion 360 preferences to match the CAD/CAM tutorials? My F360 just won’t do some of the steps in the CAD/CAM tutorials. (it doesn’t respond in the same way).
ex: In the 5M CAD tutorial after bringing the stencil of the eagle, my model body would disappear every time I tried to rotate the view angle to click the bottom center of the stencil body for the joint.
ex: 5M still, after I drew the circle for the bolt hole pattern I could not use the trim function to delete the excess portion of the circle, it would only select the whole circle. It seemed to ignore the sketch lines of the star.
I believe that I must have some settings in preferences set incorrectly, can someone offer assistance.
@CoryBryant
Zoom out a long ways it’s there just way out in space.
I believe some of the CAD/CAM tutorial mismatches is due to Fusion 360 upgrades. I had students work the models with no issues with tutorial and Fusion, but now I am seeing where following the videos there is a difference in the selection feature, the GUI interface and functions that seem to no longer work as shown in video. The videos were created in an earlier version. For example, we no longer have CAM in the process tree, it is replaced by Manufacture. Creating threads and holes is more intuitive now… When you come across a tutorial mismatch with software, don’t fret, experiment a little. If you run into a wall, then take some images and ask in this forum. Consider it a learning process. This is my opinion on why some seem to have problems replicating the process when following the videos. In regard to your question about preferences, I do not recall seeing any videos in the Academy videos regarding preferences.

@Billy-Boyce the Fusion 360 Fundamentals would be a good place to add a tutorial on the preferences you or TITAN of CNC have their preferences set to. I have preferences I provide to my students, but for the building blocks and rocket series, this might be a big help to Newbies in Fusion 360. BTW, you have done an outstanding job in the videos, your delivery and clarity is much enjoyed by my students. Congrats!!
