Using Joints for CAM

Hi my name is Gil and I’m in Mt. Sterling, KY.

I have a part that requires a total of 8 positions for my machine. I have a fixture plate I have modified numerous times that will (hopefully) allow me to to use from op 2 though final position. This fixture will be secured to an additional fixture along the way as seen in the picture. I have a central ID expander and evenly space locator dowels that will allow the part to simply be rotated 180deg. Is there a way to apply a rotational joint on my ID expander to rotate the plate/part 180 deg and stop it in that position thereby allowing me to move from OP 3 into OP 4 without having to model that “part flip” in the Design environment? In other words I would like to simply “activate” the joint and then move back to the Manufacture side? Im usingFusion360 by the way. Sorry could not figure out how to add a pic.

Probably several ways to do this. I am thinking you create an axis on the centerline of the ID expander and then rotate your part around the axis. Is your part situated where you are doing work perpendicular to the ID expander centerline axis, hence having to rotate part?
