Hi I recently purchased solidworks for makers (before I found you ) and have poor internet with costly data.
It needs to be connected to fire up, then it ran with the net turned off,
BUT it wanted to check the license every 15 minutes, so I would need to reconnect as it went into mode of the only function available was save .
Turning the net back on briefly would get me another 15 minutes…

Hello, @hamishhamilton, and welcome to the TITANS Forum! To the best of my knowledge 3DEXPERIENCE Solidworks for Makers requires a persistent internet connection. That’s the thing with cloud-based applications: they’re always checking for updates or validating licenses.
I will definitely look into this further and let you know if I find a solution for you. In the meantime, I did find this support article on Solidworks’ site. Take a look and let us know if it works to delay the constant need for internet connection.

Upon further investigation it would appear that there is no mechanism to prevent 3DEX from performing license checks. As software systems continue to evolve, this will only become more common.
