Has anyone used clear adaptive toolpaths on an old CNC with 19200 baudrate and standard lookahead G8P1? i have an old fanuc from 2002 and I want to know if I can use it? It may slowdown the feed and the ratio will not be respeced. What can be bad in this case? just the long time? it can affect the toolife?
I have a 1995 Mill that has a Centroid control. Whenever I use that type of Tool path it can cause the machine to stutter through it. I don’t do real production so I can’t say for sure about tool life. My assumption would be a small dwells could cause the tool to rub the part and effect to life because of it.
I am going to test it in the weekend. HSM express . Because my main cam software is SolidCam and in the future I am going to ask my reseller to test imachining. But I it doesn’t work well with the clear adaptive from Hsm Xpress it won’t work either with SolidCam Imachining. Thanks a lot for the reply.
Make sure that you are using the “smoothing” function for the adaptive paths. this will smooth out the shuddering bu converting linear moves into arcs and splines. it will also reduce the file size of your program greatly.
