Fanuc 0 help shop link

I’m trying to put Shop Link on my 93 Wasino with Fanuc 0 controller

Hello,

To make any changes to the machine parameters you must enable Parameter Write Enable (PWE).

Always backup parameters before making any changes.

To change CNC parameters set PWE = 1
Change back to PWE = 0 when finished

1)Set CNC Communication Parameters
Follow steps in control manual

Setting 1
TVON = 0
ISO = 1
I/O = 0

Parameters For I/O = 0
‘0002’ 1 X X X X 0 X 1
‘0552’ 11 (Baud Rate)

Parameters For I/O = 1
‘0012’ 1 X X X X 0 X 1
‘0553’ 11 (Baud Rate)

Baud Rate
6 = 300
7 = 600
8 = 1200
9 = 2400
10 = 4800
11 = 9600

2)Set ShopLink Communication Parameters
Edit CONFIG.INI in FOLDER0…FOLDER7
BAUD=9600 (Match CNC Baud Rate Above)
MODE=7,E,2
BUFFER=128
WAITFORXON=1
EXT=001
RECEIVE=0
RECEIVESTART=0
RECEIVETIMEOUT=10

3)Follow SEND / RECEIVE Procedure In ShopLink FLASH Manual

How do I find the Baud Rate of the machine?

I’m reading try 9600 but the controller may only handle 4800. So at least this is a starting point. I’m not trying to act like I know what I’m doing with parameters. So I’m getting all information I can before attacking this again.

Read the value of the parameter and match it to this list.

Baud Rate
11 = 9600
10 = 4800
9 = 2400
8 = 1200
7 = 600
6 = 300

Your CNC RS232 connector can be I/O 0(Zero) or 1

The value set in Parameter 0552 is the Baud Rate for I/O = 0(Zero)
0552 11 (Baud Rate 9600)
0552 10 (Baud Rate 4800)

0552 7 (Baud Rate 600)
0552 6 (Baud Rate 300)

Parameter 0553 is the Baud Rate for I/O = 1

Set value ‘10’ for Baud Rate 4800

Parameters For I/O = 0
0552 10 (Baud Rate 4800)

Parameters For I/O = 1
0553 10 (Baud Rate 4800)

Edit ShopLink FLASH CONFIG.INI parameters to match CNC parameters.
BAUD=4800

I’m going to be working on this either tomorrow or Monday so hopefully this time with the information given here. I can get this old lathe up and running making money.

Well got the machine Receiving and Sending Programs finally.
Now I need help with this Dinosaur setting Work and Tool offsets. I don’t have a book so I’m relying on what I can find online. This is way different than anything I have ever done.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the Fanuc way that I know this machine is way older its a 93 Wasino with a Fanuc 0t controller. From what I have read its a code in MDI to set the measurements. There are no soft keys to measure nor input measure.
