I have students that signed up for Fusion 360 and apparent they chose the not free version. When we go to update user - we followed what support had told us and it would send us on path that led to educational institute. That usually fixed it within 2-3 days. Lately we have done it and it does not lead us to an educational selection but it says you are updated. Of course after 7 days it still says Buy Now .
are we missing something?

Not yet - I have contacted Fab at autodesk for help but we may attempt again.

It looks like the update did finally work - I guess we did do it right

I would sign up as a hobbyist/startup. Once your account is educational you can never upgrade and will need to create a new one.

You contact support to do it for you, if you are legit it is no issue for support to do it for you.
