I’m running a 1/2" harvi III in a known good program in a tegara dual contact holder, and it cuts beautifully.
I purchased several sandvik bt30 hydraulic holders. Swapped one out for the same tool, and now it is LOUD cutting. Harmonics are terrible. +200% feed wasn’t enough. So I dropped rpm by 1k @ 100% feed, and it’s cutting smooth.
It is a longer holder, but hydraulic
Why did I have to change Anything?
Are hydraulic better than dual contact?
Can we grind these to dual contact?
