Up late last night practicing on Fusion360 until I feel asleep at the desk. My question is on larger parts that can’t be parted off and need two operations. First op is face/drill/rough bore/ID groove/turn largest diameter. Then I need to flip to finish to length, turn OD and ID. To do this does there need to be two separate solid bodies and set ups orientated the correct way?

I do not have any machines currently that would allow me to part off and move secondary operations to my sub-spindle, but I have seen how easy it is to do this in Fusion 360 and/or HSMWorks. You will use same model, create a second setup, reorient your program zero for the second op, I believe it will even remember how much you took off the stock from your first setup, but if not, it is easy to edit the stock numbers.
