No option to download models?

Hi guys
For some reason I can no longer download any of the models. When I select ‘model download’ it opens in the viewer but there’s no blue ‘download’ button at the top right of the screen. It was fine last week, has something changed that I’ve missed?
Thanks in advance

Did you try turning your computer off and on again to see if that helps?
Sometimes when Fusion updates I can not access my files.
I did notice that Fusion did an update.

Sorry, it’s probably my poor explanation but it’s when I try to view/download the model from the Titan page. In the past I’ve been able to view the model in Autodesk viewer and download from there. Now the actual ‘download’ button has vanished…

Which file did you try to download. Let us try, if a link is broke, then we can ask to have it fixed. If we can download, then attention would be focused on your end for a remedy.

All of them lol…
If I select the rocket for example, the first option to download the model displays the actual model preview but there’s no ‘download’ button anymore

whereas if I want to download the PDF drawing the blue ‘download’ button is at the top right of the screen. It seems to be the case with all the PDFs, I have the option to download them, but when I preview a model the blue button isn’t there…

Guys, please could I ask a favor? I’ve opened the pawn from the chess set in the viewer and the download option isn’t available, but if I open the drawing the option to download is. Please could one of you see if they have the same issue? That way I can troubleshoot if the issue is at my end. Thanks in advance…

I tried to download the 84L on my end and just get the viewable download, no longer see an option to download the fusion model to your computer for use. So I suspect some changes to availability of 3D models may be under way. I for one had wondered why they would be available, if your scope is to teach someone how to design in 3D, having a real model available may have some shortcut thru the design and not learn the trials and tribulations to actually design the part. I never told my students a download was available and they had to show me their model in various stages of development. My guess, and IMHO, it may be part of any certification being considered, how can you verify if a student/client actually created the part if all they have to do it download it to start the CAM process? Or it may be a wrinkle in the website and the ability to download may reappear.

Ah, thanks for checking, at least I know it’s not an issue at my end. Although I understand your reasoning for not having the model available I’d still like to have it as an option to download, simply because of time constraints it’s not always viable to model and CAM from scratch. As you are well aware, in industry sometimes the CAM guy receives the model from the design team to work his magic!
Thanks for checking, I appreciate it.

nice to see this posted in a sense becuase i don’t feel so stupid any more.

I can’t find any download link either, all that happens is the model viewer opens up in chrome but i can’t import it to fusion 360 on my desktop or the cloud, making it quite difficult for me to start the academy courses. any update as to what exactly is going on?

would be great to here from titans academy themselves to see what is going on with the downloads, i have had issues with the download button being missing for at least a month… while i can just follow tuts on designing, im really just interested in camming it all out. Im a programmer not a engineer or designer!

plus some of the models that were available for download dont even have a tutorial on design… they were just solid models you could download… now they arent available

Agreed, it would be nice if somebody from this site could drop a short post on here explaining what the reasons are. I appreciate they don’t ‘owe’ us an explanation but, as Joey and I have both stated earlier, some of us aren’t designers and lean towards the CAM side of things therefore don’t want to model the parts prior to machining. It wouldn’t happen in industry, a customer would simply send a model over and I’d CAM it. This is a great site with some excellent tutorials and having the models available as a download was a BIG plus, please will you reconsider?

Greetings! Thank you all for supporting @StephenHall and for providing your feedback. The decision to disable model downloads was made in an effort to better align the TITANS of CNC: Academy Curriculum with project-based learning standards. As suggested by @StephenHadwin the decision was also related to rollout of the TITANS of CNC: Certifications. The Curriculum was designed with an emphasis on CAD, CAM, and CNC. We believe that Design is a fundamental aspect to CNC Machining and that it should not be separated from the process.

Going forward we have decided to place more emphasis on the resources we make available to our members. Prints and Tutorials and the support of the TITAN Forum and Academy Facebook Group.

You can go to the 3D Model drop down on the academy page. All icons listed as model has downloadable models. Those who don’t will have LearnCad on the icon.

Hey Stephen,

No, not all models in the 3d Model drop down are not downloadable. I just tried a number of them, and everyone I tried(probably around 10 or so), I could not download the model…

Looks like first page are half stating models coming soon, I selected the load more at bottom of a page and the next two pages were all downloadable. Don’t know what to tell you, looks like a ton of downloadable models in Fusion format. Just what are you looking for, maybe you should try GradCad.

One more thing to note: when it comes to our series that feature aerospace parts/techniques, we will make the models available to download. Example: Building Blocks Aero.

We recognize that some industries provide the solid models to shops. To that end, we want to emulate the real-world experience as closely as possible.
