TITANS of CNC: Academy Model Downloads OFFICIAL STATEMENT

(REPOST)

Recently, we have had some questions about our decision to disable model downloads on the Academy. The feedback was discussed internally and we came to the following conclusions:

We believe that design creates a strong foundation for the current and the next generation of machinists. Our goal is to align the TITANS of CNC: Academy Curriculum with State and Local project-based learning standards (as more schools and institutions implement our curriculum this position becomes especially important to us). That said, models belonging to our Core Learning Series (the Building Blocks, Rocket, Chess Set, etc.) will remain non-downloadable.

We also acknowledge that industries (such as the Aerospace Industry) provide shops with the solid models they need to complete a job. To that end, projects that do not belong to a Core series or that include industry-specific lessons, like the Building Blocks Aero, will soon have their model download option restored.

Please reply to this topic if you require any clarification or have other feedback.

I think that this decision is spot on. It is not enough to just be able to CAM. Folks should also have a basic understanding of how to CAD, and that is what part of the Core Learning System is suppose to teach. The fundamentals.

I think: the best way to learn and view a workpiece program and redo it.
redo the same program. can be even change the dimensions.
