REST Machining Fusion 360

I am continually frustrated by the REST machining selection on Fusion 360. Sometimes I get what I want and others I can not for the life of me figure out why the follow up tool (REST) wants to go over the same areas.

Currently 1/4 endmill Adaptive followed by 1/8 endmill REST using the same heights etc. The tool goes over the same area that the 1/4 took care of.

I have watched what ever Tube Vids I can find and have watched Saunders video on whisper cuts and adding the Tolerance number from the 1st adaptive to the Radial stock to leave on the REST op and that doesn’t seem to help.
I have added more axial stock to leave and it still wants to go over the same area.

Can someone assist me with possible reasons why this is happening?

It is an absolute crap shoot on what seems like the easiest function there should be…Big tool do your job…smaller tool go where Big tool couldn’t fit. Many times I have no trouble but when this happens I can not for the life of me figure it out and waste so much time just changing numbers…I am obviously misunderstanding something.
Thanks for any help.

Would you mind sharing the file so I could check it out?
I sometimes get the same thing and have to compare with old files to get it right.

I agree, taking a look at the file, we might be able to see something. I know in past using other systems, you might leave unseen cusps of metal from overlap that can’t be seen on the screen. These may be so minute it would not matter, but the AI of the software sees it and once more attempts to clean it up. This is an opinion only based on past experiences, it by no means indicates this is your problem. There is always opportunities it can be a software glitch.

Ive tried to share before and had to send it to an email address to do so this forum format wont allow that file type to upload but I will be glad to share. I will also start checking some of my previous op setting to see if I have continued to overlook something out of frustration.

I just emailed the file to you since I have your work email. Thanks.
