Threading cycle

I have a swiss machine job that requires a .975 length thread. I know you can turn a portion then thread turn again and thread again. Its a c16 citizen machine and. The the thread is 10-32.

Without knowing the type of Swiss-Turn machine or the diameter of the bar, I cannot recommend which size guide bushing, but I am pretty certain you can get an extended carbide guide bushing that has over .975" length of surface… Guide Bushings for Swiss lathes- iSwiss Tools

The size of the material is only .250 diameter

There are extended length collets that have 1.000" or more guide bushing diameter. There is also a way to program long threads by picking them up with after doing maybe .500" of thread and then finish to length. You will need to check with your machine tool programming methods. YouTube would probably offer you a good tutorial for you specific machine tool.
