Does anyone know possible causes for taper leak on through spindle coolant system on BT40 spindle and if it can be a simple fix or we have to call the service team?
It is a small leak but I think it can damage the spindle if it will be used like this due to the contact of the holder taper and the spindle taper?
Thank you.
Please provide more info about your issues.
Machine type, model, make, year?
What exactly is leaking and when?
Is the coolant leaking out of the tool or the spindle?
I just fixed one of my machines with similar issue. The coolant was leaking out of the spindle, with no tool in spindle, while the CTS pump was pressurizing the system, when it should not be leaking at all. I want to see if your issue is similar to what we had, then I can help point you in a direction where to start to look for a problem. Please reply…
The Machine is an old matra ( John Ford ) VMC 1000. Just when you put the tool (BT 40) into the spindle. The rotary joint was just replaced due to bearing faults. But this problem with the leak remains. The joint had an o-ring But i suspect the leak is at the contact of the pull stud with the cts system .
Could Just be that the Pull Stud is the wrong lenght and it doesnt allow for the tool taper to seal completely when the tool is pulled up by the draw bar… ?
