I have decided I want to build a robotic arm. At this point I don’t actually know if I will be allowed enough time on the machines to build all the parts I need or if my school will actually allow me to do all that.
My hope is that I will have a chance to come up with my own project and will at least be allowed to machine a few of the parts. If I won’t have enough time that is ok because the plans come from a kit that I can buy already machined parts for. If I need them. Best case I will be able to machine all the parts.
The motors, belts, nuts and bolts of course will be part of the kit of course. The Annin Robotics AR2 and AR3 are free open source, low cost robots that anyone can make themselves. I’ve just downloaded the source files and am looking over the project to see what all I will need to do.
It will be a while yet before I will have full access to the machines and the prof hasn’t discussed out projects with us yet. Just trying to get a jump on things.
Also thanks to Titan and Titans of CNC for helping me through a tough time and priming me for my next move into CNC manufacture. You guys are awesome.
