I’m wanting to learn the most marketable CAD/CAM program. Titans offers Fusion 360 (seems an all in one program, affordable too) and Solidworks/Mastercam (two programs, super expensive). Is it best to learn them all or focus on one?
Thank you!
Being proficient in all 3 will always make you more marketable. But being good with 1 and know some of the basics in the others is a good start. Then once you are working you can figure out what you need to learn. The best is to contact some of the companies that you may want to work for or some of the places in our area and ask them what software packages they work with and what they look for most for someone starting out.
Thanks Rick! It seems the larger companies are using Solidworks/Mastercam. The smaller shops are using Fusion. Shop size and affordability seems to be the biggest factor. How complex of assemblies and the cloud the other. I don’t want to start learning calculus when trigonometry is sufficient…
I agree with Rick. Every software package has different tools for different needs.
