Fusion Tool Library Question

Hi, my name is Jen. I run a couple of Haas ST-30 lathes at work, and I’ve been in this trade since breakfast, so I’m trying to learn . I’ve downloaded fusion 360 and modeled the 1st part in the ‘Rocket’ series, the 84L. I want to program it, but I can’t figure out how to import the tool library. I’m pretty computer illiterate, so I was hoping someone could help me out. I have it saved in OneDrive and on my desktop as a pdf file. I guess I need to convert it to either a .tools, .hsmlb, .json, or .tsv flie, but I have no idea what any of those are or how to do it. I’d appreciate any advice I can get.

@JenDaves this is more relent.
Download the tool library from the TitansoCNC academy, save it to your computer, in the manufacturing workspace … you can then manage the tool libraries and import the file into Fusion. Add it to your cloud library, would be my choice.

The PDF file is just a list of the tools, and is not intended to be imported into Fusion - that’s a different file you have to download, which is located right next to the PDF file you downloaded on the academy website. Download the correct file, and then follow the steps in the video to import the library into Fusion. BTW, the video says to go into CAM mode, which is now called manufacture. One other thing that will help is that Autodesk changed the lathe turning toolpaths and separated roughing and finishing. It makes following along with the academy videos much more challenging for beginners. You can change a setting in fusion to get the old toolpath back so you can follow along with the videos. To enable the old turning toolpaths type cam.f in the text prompt, click enter, then check the option “old-turning-profile-strategy”, and then click close. Best wishes!

Hi. Thanks for getting back to me. So, when I go to the Titan site and right click and try and download the tool library, it doesn’t take me to Dropbox. It just downloads it to my computer as a pdf file. When I open Fusion and try and select a file from Onedrive, it doesn’t see the pdf files. Do I need to register for a Dropbox account? I figured since Onedrive was on the cloud it would work.

Have you tried doing exactly what the video says?

I asked a question on Facebook I don’t know the answers I don’t know if you have Facebook but they answer questions really fast there. I’m just trying to help.

Yes. Like 4 or 5 times. Lol! I just tried to sign up for a Dropbox account, and I realized it’s going to cost $20/mo, so tomorrow I’m gonna go put some cash in the bank and sign up and try again.

You do not need dropbox paid or otherwise If you click on download tool library it should download Titans_bulding_blocks_tools.tools (to your downloads folder) then you just dump the file in your Assets - CAMposts folder in the data panel.

Okay. I’ll try again tonight. Thanks for your help.
