hi, everyone.
im have trouble with the 2d adaptive clearing on 3m and 4m. can use some help ? thanks. it dose not create a tool path, then it give me an error. it says that I need to select a pocket, so I do. then it does creates a toolpath but only in the pocket and no where outside. i don’t understand what im doing wrong ?
Are you selecting the bottom face of the pocket or the bottom contour of the pocket? Maybe you should have picked 3D Adaptive. If you can show a screenshot where you are in the CAM process
hi Stephen, thank you for your response. I have tried selecting both ways and no tool path is generated it only continues to generate the pocket. but no outside toolpath.
I am not at my CAD computer, but tomorrow I will check. The videos you are following may differ in what you need to do since they were in a much older version of Fusion. I would probably uncheck the stock contours button or instead of letting it default the yellow square for stock, maybe pick the contour of the pocket. If you are wanting to rough out the pocket and the outside contour, then choose 3D adaptive.
Okay, I opened up my part that I did using the tutorial… As I expected the newer Fusion version lost some relationships and I had to edit and correct a few processes. So if you followed the tutorial, there are things you can do different to accomplish the same thing. You only need one chain to 2D Adaptive the pocket, not two as shown in tutorial. Pick the contour line at bottom of pocket for the geometry. Here is the file when I opened it in the new version of Fusion.
Here is the image where I regenerated the processes, then went back and reselected the contours.
Here is a video showing the CAM simulation - https://youtu.be/OqKSZiYQxaY
thank you for all your help Stephen. i figured it out , it was the rest material it was active. when un-selected it and i than re-selected only one pocket/ contour at a time it generated a correct tool path. now i was able to finish 3m and 4m, also. thanks again.
