So I wanted to start one of the aerospace academy tutorials, but its for MasterCam only, and not Fusion 360. Am I right to understand, I need to buy MasterCam to complete it? To get the certification at least?

Hi Kim , you can download the HLE version of MasterCam ( home learning edition) . It is free to use and is a complete package . What it lacks is the ability to post process code for your cnc . However it will be sufficient for the CNCEXPERT certificate
Actually I just found out the HLE version will not let you process a step file , the edu version will , it’s available thru the academy
@KimBallovarre, you can acquire the HLE MasterCam version or purchase the edu version for $160… Other option is get Fusion 360 for students (free if you are attending school) Here is the link for MasterCam - Mastercam and Titan - A Year of Mastercam
One other note: The only certificates available as of today are the building blocks and rocket series. The aerospace is not listed yet.
I know that the Titan 509 has most of the tutorial as fusion 360, in the Aerospace Academy. The only part it doesn’t are the mill features, which are the threads holes and middle hole intersection. It is out of Inconel 625 though. Hope this helps!!
Watch the Mastercam video closely. Then try it in Fusion. There will be differences, but if you are working on this level with Fusion, you should be able to figure it out. Once you do, you deserve a pat on the back.
Thanks so much everyone. You’ve cleared it all up.
I’m looking forward to getting those certificates.
