Hello,
I’m using Fusion360 to write code for my Tormach 1100. I manufacture a handgun accessory I patented that helps law enforcement and concealed carry citizens in close combat situations.
I work mostly in 7075 T6. And I’ve fixtured-up a “tombstone” (2-sided pallet) on my 4th axis.
I’d love to meet-up with others in the area that are in a similar situation.
You can reach me at (rickmolina4ATg mailDOTcom). Trying to avoid the Spam bots.
I’m very happy with this setup. It allows me to run two of my parts on Op1 and two on Op2 every time I close the doors. Which means I get two finished parts every time I open the doors.
I originially designed it around my specific product, but it can handle just about anything inside a 3" x 3" x 6" envelope (there’s a little give and take in there), which is big enough for everything I work on.
I love the CarveSmart Master Jaws. I can swap out hard and soft jaws in under a minute.
I typically run an Op0 to make a dovetail, while holding the stock in hard step jaws on the vises on the left. (I sold my set of parallels.) Then I put that dovetail directly in the single master jaws you see on the right.
That allows me to rough 5 sides and finish 3 by indexing to positional 4th axis angles.
Then I flip and rotate them over to soft jaws in the vises you see on the left side, where I use the same indexing strategy to finish the last 3 sides.
