Hi guys… I’m having some problems extruding the pockets on the side of this part. I have tried to extrude them from the face -.200 with no luck both picking the radius and the angled face. If i choose the bottom face and offset it .125 it works some what but i know its not right. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks https://a360.co/2KuSU72 Heres the link
I really need to go through and do all the cad work in the series. But to make it clear your trying to extrude the Counterbore more. I may need to go look at the part or someone who has done this part can chime in faster.
I have the counterbores modeled with no problems its the pockets on the angled faces that im having issues with.
ok before you selected the geometry did you change the Extrude to a cut body/boss
Yeah I normally right click the area I want to extrude/cut so that it selects the geometry then I change the operation to cut but i just tried doing it before selecting any geometry still no luck. Thanks for the help Mike
yeah I’m going to start on the Cad portion of the building blocks just to learn maybe something new or relearn something forgotten. Plus, that way i can be more helpful to the guys like you that are going through them.
Absolutely learning this cad/cam stuff is fun for me its what i do with my free time. I’m a machinist by trade but never really used cad/cam on a machine where i worked we programmed fadal haas and mazaks by hand. With fusion or cam in general you can manufacture anything. Maybe if i tag @Billy-Boyce he could help but I’m sure he’s super busy. i also seem to have trouble added the bottom radius to pockets a lot. I dont know if there is a proper procedure or order for selecting chamfers and radius’s.
Yes always busy but hope this helps. This is pretty much the same thing as the Titan-9m pockets. Here is the order I did to get it all to work.
The video should load soon
First off thank you for taking the time to help! I was getting pretty frustrated but I’ve got it now after your video. You and Titan help so many people you’re truly an inspiration! Thanks again man have a great day @Billy-Boyce
@Billy-Boyce, well, I gave it a stab during my lunch, had about 20 minutes to spare and came back and you had already provided a “how to” I have not seen your method yet, hopefully my method is different to give a different perspective. @ScottSchwind

Thank you much I’m glad you were able to get it all worked out.
It looks like we were looking at it the same way pretty much. Thank you for taking the time to do that.
I just got some time to watch your screencast thank you so much for taking the time to help. @StephenHadwin
