2D Contour Selection Issue - Need some help

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to make it so I don’t have to click every little line segment during contour selection. The first is where I am using the “2D Contour” function and it will not allow me to click the entire body, but I have to click every little line during Contour Selection to get it to draw a toolpath. The second image is what it looks like if I am using the “Cutting 2D” profile where I can simply click on the body and it figures it out in one click. I have to be missing something. Anyone have any tips for this newb?

Have you tried rotating the part so you can select the Contour Line from the bottom side. Then to cut the inside the arrow will be like the bottom picture. Side note make sure you Heights are right just always double check when you have to select Tooling Lines from opposite sides.
